How It Works
Aceclofenac inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and inflammation.
Paracetamol works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins in the brain, which are responsible for pain and fever.
Serratiopeptidase acts as a proteolytic enzyme, breaking down fibrin and other proteins involved in inflammation, thereby reducing pain and swelling.

Hifenac SP Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Aceclofenac (100 mg), Paracetamol (325 mg), and Serratiopeptidase (15 mg). Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation. Paracetamol, a widely used analgesic and antipyretic agent, acts centrally to alleviate pain and reduce fever without significant anti-inflammatory effects.

Serratiopeptidase, a proteolytic enzyme, facilitates the breakdown of inflammatory mediators and promotes the resolution of edema and tissue inflammation. This combination is indicated for the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and postoperative inflammation. Hifenac SP provides synergistic pain relief by targeting multiple pathways involved in inflammation and pain perception.
It is generally well tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, hepatic or renal impairment, and hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or any component of the formulation. The medication should be administered under medical supervision, adhering to prescribed dosages to minimize adverse effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, allergic reactions, or hepatic dysfunction.
