Hifen CV 200 Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefixime 200 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, designed for the treatment of various bacterial infections. Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin, exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, effectively targeting Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Cefixime by preventing the enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic, thereby overcoming resistance mechanisms in beta-lactamase producing bacteria. This synergistic combination is indicated for infections such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections including bronchitis and pneumonia, otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, and uncomplicated gonorrhea. Hifen CV 200 is administered orally and is generally well tolerated; however, it should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal discomfort.
