Hexzone-SB 375mg Injection is a sterile, injectable formulation combining Ceftriaxone 250mg and Sulbactam 125mg, designed for the treatment of a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Ceftriaxone by preventing the enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity against resistant strains.

Hexzone-SB is indicated for the management of infections caused by susceptible organisms, including lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, and septicemia. The injection is administered intravenously or intramuscularly, with dosage and duration tailored according to the severity of infection and patient response.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, penicillins, or beta-lactamase inhibitors. Caution is advised in patients with renal or hepatic impairment. Adverse reactions may include hypersensitivity reactions, gastrointestinal disturbances, and local injection site reactions. Hexzone-SB 375mg Injection should be used under strict medical supervision, adhering to recommended guidelines to minimize resistance development and ensure therapeutic efficacy.
