Herpikind Ointment should be applied at the earliest sign of an outbreak, such as tingling or redness, to optimize therapeutic outcomes. The ointment is intended for external use only and should be applied in a thin layer to the affected area five times daily for 4 to 5 days or as directed by a healthcare professional. Common adverse effects are minimal but may include mild local irritation, itching, or burning at the application site. Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to acyclovir or any component of the formulation.
