Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that inhibits the vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, leading to decreased blood pressure and reduced strain on the heart. The synergistic action of these agents helps to decrease the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization due to heart failure. Hefcard is administered orally, typically twice daily, and should be used under strict medical supervision, especially in patients with renal impairment, hypotension, or a history of angioedema.
Monitoring of renal function, electrolytes, and blood pressure is recommended during therapy. This combination is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to its components, pregnancy, or concomitant use with ACE inhibitors due to the risk of angioedema. Hefcard 49mg/51mg Tablet represents an important therapeutic option in the management of chronic heart failure to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life.
