Hbnem 1gm Injection contains Meropenem 1000mg, a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including multidrug-resistant strains. It is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections such as complicated intra-abdominal infections, bacterial meningitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and pneumonia, including hospital-acquired and ventilator-associated pneumonia.

Meropenem works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Hbnem 1gm Injection is administered intravenously, ensuring rapid and effective systemic distribution. The dosage and duration of therapy depend on the severity and site of infection, as well as renal function. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics.
Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, rash, and injection site reactions. Serious but rare side effects include seizures, especially in patients with central nervous system disorders or renal impairment. Renal function should be monitored during prolonged therapy, and dose adjustments are recommended in renal insufficiency. Hbnem 1gm Injection should be used under strict medical supervision to ensure appropriate antimicrobial stewardship and to minimize the development of resistance.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Meropenem or other carbapenems.
