HB Hep 25000IU Injection contains Heparin 25000IU, an anticoagulant used to prevent and treat thromboembolic disorders. Heparin acts by potentiating the activity of antithrombin III, thereby inhibiting thrombin and activated factor Xa, which results in the prevention of fibrin clot formation. This injection is indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and other conditions associated with an increased risk of clot formation such as atrial fibrillation and during extracorporeal circulation in hemodialysis or cardiac surgery.

HB Hep 25000IU Injection is administered parenterally, typically via intravenous or subcutaneous routes, under strict medical supervision due to the risk of bleeding complications. Dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on patient condition, coagulation parameters, and response to treatment. Monitoring of activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) is essential to ensure therapeutic efficacy and minimize adverse effects.
Contraindications include active bleeding, severe thrombocytopenia, and hypersensitivity to heparin.
