This synergistic combination extends the antimicrobial spectrum to include beta-lactamase-producing strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Granclav-DS Dry Syrup is indicated for the treatment of various infections such as respiratory tract infections (including otitis media, sinusitis, and pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections caused by susceptible organisms.
The dry syrup formulation is particularly suitable for pediatric patients and those with swallowing difficulties, ensuring accurate dosing and improved compliance. Dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on the severity of infection, patient age, weight, and renal function. Caution is advised in patients with a history of penicillin allergy or hepatic impairment.
