Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death, while Clavulanic Acid serves as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing enzymatic degradation of Amoxycillin by resistant bacteria. This synergistic combination extends the antimicrobial spectrum to include beta-lactamase-producing strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Granclav-DS Dry Syrup is indicated for the treatment of various infections such as respiratory tract infections (including otitis media, sinusitis, and pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections caused by susceptible organisms. The dry syrup formulation is particularly suitable for pediatric patients and those with swallowing difficulties, ensuring accurate dosing and improved compliance.
