Goldclav-DS Oral Suspension is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 400 mg and Clavulanic Acid 57 mg per dose, designed to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin derivative, exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Clavulanic Acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing enzymatic degradation of Amoxycillin and thereby extending its antimicrobial spectrum. This synergistic combination is effective against beta-lactamase producing strains of bacteria responsible for respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections. Goldclav-DS Oral Suspension is particularly useful in pediatric and adult patients who require an oral antibiotic with enhanced efficacy against resistant pathogens. The suspension form facilitates accurate dosing and improves compliance in patients with swallowing difficulties. It should be administered as prescribed, with the full course completed to prevent resistance development.
