Glycidap 10mg Tablet contains dapagliflozin, a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. By inhibiting SGLT2 in the proximal renal tubules, dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion, thereby lowering plasma glucose levels. Glycidap is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents.

Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing HbA1c, fasting plasma glucose, and body weight, with additional benefits on blood pressure reduction. The recommended dose is 10 mg once daily, taken orally in the morning, with or without food. Glycidap is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to dapagliflozin.
Common adverse effects include urinary tract infections, genital mycotic infections, and increased urination. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, volume depletion, or risk factors for ketoacidosis. Regular monitoring of renal function and glycemic parameters is recommended during therapy. Glycidap should be used under medical supervision to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize potential risks.

How to use Glycidap Tablet Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glycidap 10mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
