The medication is typically administered once or twice daily, with dosage individualized based on patient response and glycemic targets. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, as altered metabolism and excretion may increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Common adverse effects include hypoglycemia, weight gain, and gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea and epigastric discomfort.
