Gluconorm P 15 Tablet ER is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Pioglitazone 15 mg and Metformin 500 mg extended-release. It is primarily indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients who are inadequately controlled on diet and exercise alone or those already receiving monotherapy with either component. Pioglitazone, a thiazolidinedione, improves insulin sensitivity by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ), thereby enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.
