Gliptoryl DSR 10 Tablet is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Dapagliflozin 10mg and Vildagliptin 100mg, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting urinary glucose excretion and thereby lowering plasma glucose levels. Vildagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, enhances incretin hormone activity, increasing insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner.

This dual mechanism addresses hyperglycemia through complementary pathways, improving glycemic control without significant risk of hypoglycemia when used appropriately. Gliptoryl DSR 10 is typically prescribed as adjunctive therapy to diet and exercise in patients inadequately controlled on monotherapy or other antidiabetic agents. It is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to its components.
