Gliptagreat M 500 Tablet

Vildagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, enhances the incretin system by preventing the degradation of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), resulting in increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. The combined pharmacologic actions of Gliptagreat M 500 provide complementary mechanisms to effectively reduce fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.

This combination therapy is recommended for patients inadequately controlled on metformin monotherapy or those for whom metformin and vildagliptin combination is appropriate. Gliptagreat M 500 should be used alongside diet and exercise to optimize glycemic control. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, hepatic dysfunction, or a history of lactic acidosis.
