Glipsov Tablet contains Teneligliptin 20mg, a potent and selective dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Teneligliptin enhances the incretin system by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, thereby increasing the levels of active incretin hormones such as GLP-1 and GIP. These hormones stimulate glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and suppress glucagon release from alpha cells, resulting in improved glycemic control. Glipsov is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic parameters including fasting blood glucose, postprandial glucose, and HbA1c levels. It can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin. The medication is generally well-tolerated, with a low risk of hypoglycemia when used alone. Common adverse effects may include nasopharyngitis, headache, and gastrointestinal disturbances.
