Glimsentro-MV1 Tablet SR is a combination oral hypoglycemic agent formulated to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains Glimepiride (1 mg), Metformin (500 mg), and Voglibose (0.2 mg), each contributing distinct mechanisms to regulate blood glucose levels. Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea, stimulates pancreatic beta cells to increase insulin secretion. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily reduces hepatic glucose production and enhances peripheral insulin sensitivity, thereby improving glucose uptake and utilization. Voglibose, an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, delays carbohydrate absorption from the intestine, reducing postprandial hyperglycemia. The sustained-release formulation ensures gradual drug release, promoting stable plasma concentrations and improved patient compliance. Glimsentro-MV1 is indicated for adult patients inadequately controlled on diet and exercise alone or on monotherapy.
