How It Works
Paracetamol works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins in the brain, which are responsible for pain and fever.
Aceclofenac inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and inflammation.
Serratiopeptidase acts as a proteolytic enzyme, breaking down fibrin and other proteins involved in inflammation, thereby reducing pain and swelling.

Gesic-Ell SP Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Aceclofenac (100mg), Paracetamol (325mg), and Serratiopeptidase (15mg). Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation. Paracetamol provides effective analgesic and antipyretic action through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, complementing the anti-inflammatory properties of Aceclofenac.

Serratiopeptidase, a proteolytic enzyme, facilitates the breakdown of inflammatory mediators and promotes the resolution of edema and tissue inflammation. This synergistic combination is indicated for the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, postoperative pain, and soft tissue injuries. The tablet offers rapid relief from pain, inflammation, and swelling, improving patient mobility and comfort.
It should be used under medical supervision, with caution advised in patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, or renal impairments. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, and allergic reactions. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to any component, active peptic ulcer, and severe hepatic or renal dysfunction. Regular monitoring is recommended during prolonged therapy to ensure safety and efficacy.
