Genomox-CV Dry Syrup Strawberry is a pediatric antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 200 mg and Clavulanic Acid 28.5 mg per dose, designed to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Amoxycillin by preventing enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria. This combination is effective against respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections caused by susceptible organisms. The dry syrup formulation, flavored with strawberry, improves palatability and compliance in pediatric patients. Genomox-CV Dry Syrup should be reconstituted with water prior to administration and dosed according to the severity of infection and patient weight. It is generally well-tolerated; however, adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, as well as hypersensitivity reactions in penicillin-sensitive individuals. Use is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics. Careful adherence to prescribed dosage and duration is essential to minimize resistance development and ensure therapeutic success.
