Gatifloxacin exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby leading to bacterial cell death. These sterile ophthalmic drops provide rapid relief from symptoms such as redness, irritation, and discharge associated with bacterial eye infections. Gatilox Eye Drops are typically administered as one drop instilled into the affected eye(s) every two to four hours initially, followed by a reduction in frequency as the infection resolves, according to the prescribing physician’s instructions. The formulation is designed for optimal ocular penetration and minimal systemic absorption, reducing the risk of systemic side effects.
