Fiasp is characterized by its ultra-fast onset of action, typically beginning to work within minutes after injection, making it particularly effective for controlling postprandial blood sugar spikes. This rapid activity allows for more flexible dosing around meal times compared to regular insulin. Fiasp is indicated for adults and children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes who require insulin therapy to achieve optimal blood sugar management.
It should be administered subcutaneously, usually within 0 to 2 minutes before starting a meal or up to 20 minutes after starting a meal if necessary. Proper storage and handling are essential to maintain insulin potency.
