Eprinak-ED Capsule SR is a sustained-release formulation combining Eperisone 150 mg and Diclofenac 50 mg, designed for the management of musculoskeletal conditions characterized by muscle spasm and inflammation. Eperisone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that alleviates muscle stiffness and spasticity by inhibiting spinal reflexes and improving blood flow in skeletal muscles, thereby enhancing muscle relaxation and reducing pain. Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins involved in inflammation and pain. The sustained-release mechanism ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, allowing for improved patient compliance through reduced dosing frequency. Eprinak-ED Capsule SR is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders such as cervical spondylosis, lumbar spondylosis, myofascial pain syndrome, and other conditions associated with muscle spasm and inflammatory pain. Caution is advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulceration, renal or hepatic impairment, and cardiovascular disorders.
