Choline Salicylate (9% w/w) + Lidocaine (2% w/w)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Choline Salicylate inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators, providing analgesic effects in the oral cavity.
Lidocaine blocks sodium channels in nerve membranes, preventing the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses.
Medical applications
Zytee-L Gel is a topical analgesic formulation containing Choline Salicylate 9% w/w and Lidocaine 2% w/w, designed for the symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal conditions such as strains, sprains, bruises, and minor sports injuries. Choline Salicylate, a salicylate derivative, exerts anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, provides rapid onset of analgesia by blocking sodium channels in neuronal membranes, preventing nerve impulse conduction and thereby diminishing localized pain sensations. The gel formulation allows for targeted application to affected areas, promoting localized drug delivery with minimal systemic absorption. Zytee-L Gel is intended for external use only and should be applied in a thin layer to the affected site, avoiding contact with mucous membranes or broken skin. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to salicylates, lidocaine, or any component of the formulation. Caution is advised in individuals with aspirin sensitivity or bleeding disorders. Use during pregnancy or lactation should be under medical supervision. Adverse effects are generally mild and may include local irritation or allergic reactions. Zytee-L Gel offers an effective, dual-action approach to managing localized pain and inflammation in outpatient settings.
