Zyrova 20 Tablet

Rosuvastatin acts by selectively inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, leading to decreased cholesterol production and increased clearance of LDL from the bloodstream. Zyrova 20 is prescribed to patients at high risk of cardiovascular events, including those with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, familial hypercholesterolemia, or multiple risk factors such as diabetes and hypertension.

The medication is administered orally, typically once daily, with or without food. It is essential to monitor liver function tests and lipid profiles periodically during therapy to assess efficacy and detect potential adverse effects. Common side effects may include headache, myalgia, and gastrointestinal disturbances; however, serious adverse reactions like myopathy and hepatotoxicity are rare but warrant immediate medical attention.

Zyrova 20 should be used cautiously in patients with pre-existing liver or renal impairment and is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
