Zyrik 100 Tablet contains Allopurinol 100mg, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used primarily to reduce elevated serum uric acid levels in patients with gout and certain types of kidney stones. By inhibiting xanthine oxidase, Allopurinol decreases the production of uric acid, thereby preventing the formation of urate crystals that cause inflammation and pain in gouty arthritis. It is also indicated for the management of hyperuricemia associated with malignancies undergoing chemotherapy, where rapid cell turnover leads to increased uric acid production.
