Zyceva is indicated for patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC with activating EGFR mutations and for use in combination with gemcitabine in locally advanced, unresectable, or metastatic pancreatic cancer. The recommended dosage is 150mg once daily, taken orally on an empty stomach to optimize absorption. Common adverse effects include rash, diarrhea, anorexia, and fatigue, which are generally manageable with supportive care.
Serious adverse reactions may include interstitial lung disease and hepatotoxicity, necessitating close monitoring during therapy. Patients should be advised to report any new or worsening respiratory symptoms promptly. Zyceva should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment or pre-existing pulmonary conditions.
