Rabeprazole (20mg) + Domperidone (30mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Rabeprazole irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells, reducing gastric acid secretion.
Domperidone antagonizes dopamine D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone, inhibiting nausea and vomiting.
Medical applications
Zolo-DSR Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30 mg and Rabeprazole 20 mg, designed for the effective management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, and related upper gastrointestinal disorders. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, facilitates gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby alleviating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing sustained acid suppression and promoting mucosal healing. The synergistic action of these agents addresses both the motility dysfunction and acid hypersecretion components of acid-related disorders. Zolo-DSR is indicated for patients presenting with erosive esophagitis, non-erosive reflux disease, and functional dyspepsia where enhanced gastric emptying and acid suppression are warranted. The capsule should be administered orally, preferably before meals, as directed by a healthcare professional. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, underlying cardiac conditions, or hepatic impairment. Regular monitoring and adherence to prescribed dosage ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes while minimizing potential adverse effects such as headache, dry mouth, or gastrointestinal disturbances.
