How It Works
Azithromycin binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis and leading to bacterial cell death.

Zocon AS Tablet is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Fluconazole 150mg, Azithromycin 1000mg, and Secnidazole 1000mg, designed for the treatment of mixed infections caused by susceptible organisms. Azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, exerts bacteriostatic effects by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, and is effective against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Secnidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, targets anaerobic protozoa and bacteria by causing DNA strand breakage and inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis.
The combination is indicated for polymicrobial infections involving fungal, bacterial, and protozoal pathogens, commonly seen in gynecological, gastrointestinal, and respiratory tract infections. Zocon AS Tablet should be used under medical supervision with consideration of patient history, potential drug interactions, and contraindications such as hypersensitivity to any component.
