Zithowin SF Kit is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Fluconazole 150 mg, Azithromycin 1 gm, and Secnidazole 1 gm, designed for the effective management of mixed infections caused by susceptible fungal, bacterial, and protozoal pathogens. Azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, exerts its antibacterial activity by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and exhibiting broad-spectrum efficacy against gram-positive and certain gram-negative bacteria. Secnidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, targets anaerobic protozoa and bacteria by inducing DNA strand breaks and inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis.
