Caution is advised in individuals with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, or thyroid disorders. Adverse reactions may include transient burning or stinging upon instillation, pupil dilation, and rarely, systemic effects such as increased blood pressure or headache. Patients should avoid contact lens use during treatment unless otherwise directed by a healthcare professional. Proper administration involves instilling one or two drops into the affected eye(s) up to four times daily as needed.
