ZELgor 500mg Tablet contains Abiraterone Acetate 500mg, an androgen biosynthesis inhibitor primarily indicated for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Abiraterone Acetate selectively inhibits the enzyme CYP17A1, which is critical in the production of androgens in the testes, adrenal glands, and prostate tumor tissue. By suppressing androgen synthesis, ZELgor helps to reduce tumor growth driven by androgen receptor signaling.

It is administered orally and is typically prescribed in combination with prednisone to mitigate mineralocorticoid-related side effects such as hypertension, hypokalemia, and fluid retention. Patients receiving ZELgor should be monitored regularly for liver function abnormalities, as hepatotoxicity has been reported. Additionally, monitoring for cardiovascular events and electrolyte imbalances is recommended.
ZELgor is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Abiraterone or any component of the formulation and should be used with caution in those with pre-existing liver disease or cardiac conditions.
