Zedep 20mg Capsule contains Fluoxetine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bulimia nervosa, panic disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Fluoxetine acts by increasing the extracellular level of serotonin in the central nervous system, thereby enhancing serotonergic neurotransmission.

This pharmacological action helps alleviate symptoms associated with depression and anxiety-related conditions. Zedep 20mg is typically administered orally once daily, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and tolerability. Common adverse effects include nausea, headache, insomnia, dizziness, and gastrointestinal disturbances, which are generally mild and transient.
It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Fluoxetine or any of its components, and caution is advised when co-administered with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or other serotonergic agents due to the risk of serotonin syndrome.
