Zafimove 50mg Tablet contains Safinamide, a selective and reversible monoamine oxidase-B (MAO-B) inhibitor indicated for the adjunctive treatment of idiopathic Parkinson’s disease in patients experiencing “off” episodes while on levodopa therapy. Safinamide works by enhancing dopaminergic activity in the brain through inhibition of MAO-B, thereby increasing dopamine levels and improving motor function.

Additionally, it exhibits non-dopaminergic properties, including modulation of glutamate release, which may contribute to its therapeutic effects. Zafimove is administered orally, with a recommended dosage of 50mg once daily, which may be adjusted based on clinical response and tolerability. It is generally well tolerated; common adverse effects include dyskinesia, nausea, dizziness, and insomnia.
