Yamcof LS Syrup is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Levosalbutamol (1mg/5ml), Ambroxol (30mg/5ml), and Guaifenesin (50mg/5ml), designed for the management of respiratory conditions characterized by bronchospasm, mucus hypersecretion, and productive cough. Levosalbutamol, a selective β2-adrenergic receptor agonist, acts as a bronchodilator by relaxing bronchial smooth muscle, thereby alleviating bronchospasm and improving airflow in obstructive airway diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Ambroxol serves as a mucolytic agent that facilitates the breakdown and clearance of viscous mucus by enhancing mucociliary transport and stimulating surfactant production, which aids in reducing airway obstruction. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that promotes the liquefaction of respiratory secretions, facilitating easier expectoration and clearance of mucus from the airways.
