This medication is indicated for adjuvant treatment following surgery and/or radiotherapy in early breast cancer and for advanced or metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal patients. Xtane is administered orally, typically once daily after a meal to enhance absorption. Common adverse effects may include hot flashes, fatigue, headache, joint pain, and increased sweating, while serious side effects are rare but may involve bone density reduction, necessitating periodic monitoring of bone health during prolonged therapy.
Patients with hypersensitivity to exemestane or any component of the tablet should avoid use. Caution is advised in individuals with hepatic impairment. Xtane should be used under strict medical supervision with regular follow-up to assess therapeutic response and manage potential side effects.
