Guaifenesin serves as an expectorant, promoting the expulsion of mucus from the respiratory tract. Menthol provides a soothing effect on the mucous membranes and imparts a cooling sensation that may help relieve throat irritation and cough reflex sensitivity. Terbutaline, a selective β2-adrenergic receptor agonist, exerts bronchodilatory effects by relaxing bronchial smooth muscles, thus improving airflow and reducing bronchospasm.
Xril AM Syrup is indicated for the symptomatic management of productive cough associated with bronchitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other respiratory conditions involving mucus hypersecretion and airway constriction. It should be used under medical supervision, with caution advised in patients with cardiovascular disorders, hyperthyroidism, or hypersensitivity to any component.
