Xoten is indicated for the management of primary hyperlipidemia, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, and for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in patients at high risk. The 10mg dosage is typically initiated to achieve lipid-lowering goals, with adjustments made based on patient response and tolerability. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Rosuvastatin not only lowers LDL-C but also modestly increases high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and reduces triglycerides.

Xoten should be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan including diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications. Common adverse effects may include headache, myalgia, and gastrointestinal disturbances; rare but serious risks include myopathy and hepatotoxicity.
