The dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity of the infection, patient’s renal function, and clinical response. Due to its potential nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity, careful monitoring of renal function and neurological status is recommended during treatment. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to polymyxins. Caution is advised when co-administered with other nephrotoxic or neurotoxic agents.
Administration should be performed under strict aseptic conditions, and the injection should be diluted appropriately before intravenous use. Xolabin Injection should be reserved for infections where the benefits outweigh the risks, and susceptibility testing is recommended to ensure effectiveness.
