Neomycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, preventing or treating secondary bacterial infections. Clotrimazole, an imidazole antifungal agent, inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis, making it effective against dermatophytes, yeasts, and other fungi responsible for superficial mycoses.
The synergistic combination in X Derm Plus Cream is indicated for mixed infections involving inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial and fungal infections, such as eczema, dermatitis, and tinea infections with secondary bacterial colonization. The cream should be applied topically to the affected area in a thin layer, typically twice daily, and treatment duration should be guided by clinical response and physician recommendation to minimize potential adverse effects.
Caution is advised in prolonged use due to corticosteroid-related side effects, and it is contraindicated in viral skin infections and hypersensitivity to any component.
