Rosuvastatin works by selectively inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, leading to decreased cholesterol production in the liver and increased clearance of LDL particles from the bloodstream. This mechanism contributes to the prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, including myocardial infarction, stroke, and the need for coronary revascularization procedures.
Wadnaha 10 is indicated as an adjunct to diet and lifestyle modifications such as exercise, weight control, and smoking cessation. It is also used in patients with primary hyperlipidemia, familial hypercholesterolemia, and in certain cases of mixed dyslipidemia. Dosage should be individualized based on patient response and risk factors, with regular monitoring of lipid levels and liver function tests recommended during therapy.
