Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The combined action of these two agents offers symptomatic relief from heartburn, acid regurgitation, and epigastric discomfort while promoting mucosal healing.
Orgpan-DSR is indicated for patients requiring both acid suppression and prokinetic therapy, particularly in cases of functional dyspepsia and GERD with delayed gastric emptying.
