Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related disorders. The sustained-release formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic action, improving patient compliance and symptom control. Onpzol D is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, gastritis, and other acid-related gastrointestinal conditions accompanied by delayed gastric emptying or nausea.
It is also used in managing peptic ulcer disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The combination therapy addresses both acid suppression and motility enhancement, offering comprehensive symptomatic relief. Patients should use this medication under medical supervision, especially those with underlying cardiac conditions, as Domperidone may have arrhythmogenic potential.
