Ondo MD 4 Tablet contains Ondansetron 4 mg, a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist used primarily for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and postoperative recovery. Ondansetron exerts its antiemetic effect by blocking serotonin receptors located centrally in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and peripherally in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby inhibiting the initiation of the vomiting reflex.

This medication is indicated for patients undergoing cancer treatment regimens that commonly induce emesis, as well as for managing postoperative nausea and vomiting to improve patient comfort and compliance. Ondo MD 4 Tablet is administered orally, with dosage and duration tailored according to the clinical scenario and patient response. It is generally well tolerated, with common adverse effects including headache, constipation, and dizziness.
Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment and those taking concomitant medications that may prolong the QT interval, as Ondansetron has the potential to cause cardiac arrhythmias in susceptible individuals. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to Ondansetron or any component of the formulation.
