Omezed 10 Tablet contains Omeprazole 10 mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce gastric acid secretion in the treatment of various acid-related gastrointestinal conditions. Omeprazole acts by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system located in the gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing the final step of acid production. This medication is indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection when used in combination with appropriate antibiotics.

Omezed 10 is effective in relieving symptoms such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and dyspepsia, promoting ulcer healing and preventing recurrence. The recommended dosage is typically one tablet daily, taken before meals, but may vary based on clinical condition and physician’s discretion. Omezed 10 is generally well tolerated; however, potential side effects include headache, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and rarely, hypersensitivity reactions.
Long-term use should be monitored due to risks such as vitamin B12 deficiency and bone fractures. Omezed 10 should be used cautiously in patients with liver impairment and is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Omeprazole or any of its excipients.
