Olergel Dental Gel is a topical analgesic formulation containing Choline Salicylate 8.7% w/w and Lidocaine 2% w/w, designed for the symptomatic relief of dental pain and discomfort. Choline Salicylate, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, provides effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis at the site of application. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, acts by stabilizing neuronal membranes and inhibiting the ionic fluxes required for the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, thereby producing rapid and localized numbing. Olergel Dental Gel is indicated for temporary relief of pain associated with dental procedures, teething, mouth ulcers, gingivitis, and other minor oral irritations. The gel formulation allows for easy application and adherence to mucosal surfaces, ensuring prolonged contact and enhanced efficacy. It is intended for topical use only and should be applied sparingly to the affected area. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to salicylates or local anesthetics.
