Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist that enhances gastrointestinal motility by increasing the movement of the stomach and intestines, thereby facilitating gastric emptying and reducing symptoms of nausea and vomiting. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), acts by selectively inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells, leading to a significant reduction in gastric acid secretion. This dual-action capsule is indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and other acid-related disorders where delayed gastric emptying and acid hypersecretion coexist.
