The medication should be initiated under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and tolerability. Common adverse effects may include nausea, headache, insomnia, and gastrointestinal disturbances, which are generally transient.
Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment, as metabolism may be affected. Fluvoxamine may interact with other serotonergic agents, increasing the risk of serotonin syndrome, and with drugs metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes.
