Pregabalin acts by binding to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, thereby reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters and modulating neuronal excitability. This mechanism helps alleviate pain and seizure activity. Nurosooth is typically administered orally, with dosing adjusted based on clinical response and tolerability.
Common adverse effects include dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, edema, and weight gain; patients should be monitored for signs of hypersensitivity and mood changes, including depression or suicidal ideation. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, and dose adjustments may be necessary. Nurosooth should be used under medical supervision, with gradual dose titration to minimize side effects.
