Nuroguard Tablet contains a combination of Pregabalin 75mg and Nortriptyline 10mg, formulated for the management of neuropathic pain and certain chronic pain conditions. Pregabalin, an anticonvulsant and analgesic agent, acts by modulating calcium channels in the central nervous system to reduce neurotransmitter release, thereby alleviating neuropathic pain and seizures. Nortriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, enhances noradrenergic and serotonergic neurotransmission by inhibiting the reuptake of these neurotransmitters, contributing to its analgesic and mood-stabilizing effects. The synergistic action of these two active ingredients provides effective relief from neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and fibromyalgia, as well as certain depressive symptoms. Nuroguard is indicated for patients requiring combined therapy to improve pain control and quality of life. It should be used under medical supervision, with careful consideration of contraindications such as hypersensitivity to either component, and caution in patients with cardiac conditions, renal impairment, or a history of seizures. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Dose adjustments may be necessary based on clinical response and tolerability. Nuroguard should not be abruptly discontinued to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
