NTP 25mg Tablet contains Nortriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder and certain types of chronic pain. Nortriptyline acts by inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, thereby enhancing neurotransmitter activity in the central nervous system to improve mood and alleviate depressive symptoms. This medication is also utilized off-label for neuropathic pain, migraine prophylaxis, and anxiety disorders.

NTP 25mg is administered orally, with dosage individualized based on patient response and tolerability, typically starting at a low dose and gradually increased to minimize adverse effects. Common side effects may include dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, and blurred vision. Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, glaucoma, or urinary retention, as Nortriptyline may exacerbate these conditions.
It is contraindicated in individuals with recent myocardial infarction or hypersensitivity to tricyclic antidepressants. Due to the risk of serotonin syndrome, NTP 25mg should not be combined with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or other serotonergic agents without medical supervision. Patients are advised to avoid alcohol and to report any signs of mood changes or suicidal ideation promptly.
