Notacid 40 Tablet contains Esomeprazole 40mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for the treatment of various gastric and duodenal ulcers, erosive esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Esomeprazole reduces gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the proton pump in the stomach parietal cells. Notacid is also used for short-term treatment of reflux esophagitis and long-term maintenance therapy for pathological hypersecretory conditions. It should be taken orally, once daily, before a meal. Patients should consult their healthcare provider for appropriate dosage and duration of therapy. Notacid may cause side effects such as headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and constipation. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe symptoms or allergic reactions.
